"New Look"
07-Mar-02, 03:21 AM (EDT) |
LAST EDITED ON 04-Sep-02 AT 04:00 PM (EDT) Well, I'm sick and can't sleep so I decided to finally fiddle around with the looks of the board. Unfortunately cold medication and good taste aren't typically associated so it's quite possible that this is the ugliest thing you've ever seen. In addition to answering the content poll below, any chance y'all can comment on the design/looks of the board? If you like it, say so. If you don't, make sure you say so and let me know what you'd like to see done differently. I'm trying to keep load times low, so I won't be adding much, if any, more in the way of graphics. We're still ad free, though, so there's your consolation: no pop-ups. I will change the color scheme, layout, links, whatever if things need to be added/subtracted.Thanks for all y'alls help in making our board a better place.

Here's my two cents:I'm glad you added the links. Helps create a "one site" feel - which is always has been, but getting back to the main pages took a little work before - I like this. However, I'd widen the blue navbar on the left some. You've got a lot of empty real estate on the right-hand side - you wont lose anything and then "Who's Hot/Who's Not" won't take up 4 lines. Are the links on the left the same as the links on the left of the main page? Good job, Sparky, sorry you couldn't sleep. Get better.

Yikes, something else I just noticed...Ive got a bottom scroll bar now (as I'm writing) and when I read posts. The posts go too far to the right and continue off the side of the screen. Make the space where messages appear smaller or something. I haven't done any web design in a long long time, but let me know if I can help, I hear it's like riding a bike... JL
