"Site Question"
12-Dec-01, 00:03 AM (EST)
Hope you check this sometime soon....

That "NEW" pic that is after the name. When does that appear. How long till it goes away?

Also, is there a way to make a pic or something appear next to a post when the user has read the post. I ask this because I check this board from different computers and I rely on the link being shaded when I have been to that post. If I go to another computer, it is hard to tell which I have read, and which I have not read.

Just curious....

Excellent questions.

As for the "New" icon, it goes away in a couple of days. I'm going through the preference files and can't figure out where to change it, so I'm not sure if I can shorten the time period.

Unfortunately the coloring links you've been to is keyed to your IP, not your user name. If I change it (and I think I can) none of our unregistered users can keep track. I run into the same problem, so I sympathize. If (and when) the board gets busy enough that this becomes a major issue I may change it, until then though, I guess just glance at the time stamps.

Thanks for the comments!
