"good road tie (shootout loss, whatever)"

This one feels like a victory. This Wild team is one that is expected to contend in the stacked Northwest, and they definitely have a balanced team.

Johnson was, shockingly, just fantastic tonight. I can only hope some consistency from him, soooo difficult for a back up that plays so sparingly behind Kolzig. But if he plays like this more often than not, we're good for maybe 5-10 more points this year.

Whatever about the shootout. I'm only upset that Zed didn't pot one. Hanlon clearly put him out there at #3 to get some confidence.

Finally, Semin was a bit more aggressive on the puck tonight, with more ice time. And we know he's got a dynamite wrister.

For a team that said before the season that "a good effort" wasn't enough, that they wanted to win. You can't be happy with it. They could have won this game in regulation.

You especially can't he happy with it because it was decided in a gimmick.

A point is a point.

Winning a game is not the same as making the playoffs. I'll take a point that puts us closer to the playoffs anyday. While I would have like to see a regulation win, it is definitely an improvement over a 5-1 loss like we've seen in the past. I'm not jumping up and down, but certainly not upset with a point.

Let's Go CAPS!

It's time the Caps start taking shootouts more seriously. It is obvious that they need to pay more attention to that in training. 0 for 10 is pathetic. Another thing is that the Caps tend to look for that perfect pass and that perfect play instead of just throwing the puck towards the net like the other teams who are all out shooting them game after game. I have to admit they are having a better year so far and as a big fan, I am happy but there are little things that can take them from a good team
to a better team. LET'S GO CAPS!!!
