A solid pick up. I am very surprised at the way GMs are throwing money all over the shop allready?...Boston,the Blues,The Yotes,The Wild...chucking huge salaries all over the place.Someone decided Willie Mitchell was worth 3 m a season..blimey,did the lock out ever happen??..lol I hope the fans dont automatically turn the usual "whats GM-GM doing" rant, and show more patience than some of these panic buyeing teams at the moment. Hope you are all well...

My concern with this is picking up a guy after what is clearly a career year. We also better hope that he is not only worthy of his contract, but ice time as well. He won't have guys like Chara and Redden to chew up ice time for him here. And speaking of Chara, I think it was mostly a PR move myself. There was no way we were seriously going to make him the highest paid player on this team. You want me to believe two seasons from now we would still be willing to pay him about $6 million and A.O. $8 million? Yeah, right, I think we've learned the lesson of tying up big bucks into multiple contracts. ------------------------- Everybody Wang Chung...... Please load brain before shooting off mouth.™
